Secondary Sealing-Installation

The secondary seal is an alternative product to replace the traditional rain shield on the outer floating plate. It shares the fixed screw holes on the edge plate of the outer floating plate with the primary seal, and is installed and fixed with a common bolt M10×screw hole pitch 200mm. This kind of seal is suitable for new or old crude oil and refined oil floating roof tanks of any diameter.

The pressure plate, the anti-evaporation diaphragm and the secondary seal are mainly composed of the basic structure of an elastic pressure plate, a grooved bead, a special-shaped oil-resistant, weather-resistant, and wear-resistant composite rubber sealing scraper. The elastic pressing plate fixed on the edge plate of the floating plate with bolts along the tank wall closes the sealing scraper to the tank wall through the connecting bolts and the special-shaped connecting plate. The pressing force is maintained at about 196N/m at the nominal ring spacing. It can effectively prevent oil and gas leakage, prevent rainwater, wind and sand from penetrating into the tank, and can move freely with the floating plate without warping; the anti-evaporation diaphragm has a good anti-evaporation and penetration of oil and gas, and it surrounds the floating plate. In the annular space with the tank wall, the outside is protected by an elastic pressure plate, which can effectively isolate the oil and gas leaked from the air space. The secondary sealing structure is simple and reliable, and all parts are processed in the factory and undergo strict inspection and testing.

Compared with the traditional one-time seal, the double-sealed outer floating roof tank can reduce 67% oil and gas loss and 95% rainwater infiltration. The oil and gas content near the sealing part of the floating roof is extremely low, which greatly reduces the pollution of the environment caused by the leaked oil and gas and the discharge of oily sewage, greatly reduces the possibility of explosion and flame caused by lightning strikes and other reasons. Encroached by sunlight, rain, snow, wind and sand to ensure the quality of stored oil.

The sealing scraper of petroleum storage tank is made of nitrile rubber as the main material after modification. The rubber of this product is modified, not only has good oil resistance, but also has good aging resistance.
